Abstract
Mobile radio system design is frequently based on simple models of actual radio transmission channels. Existing models represent the effect of stationary objects on channel behaviour, but overlook possible contributions from moving vehicles. This deficiency is addressed in the present paper and electromagnetic scattering from moving vehicles is shown to be a significant mobile radio propagation mechanism. Vehicular scattering trebles the range of frequencies required to characterise channel behaviour, and necessitates revised guidelines for radio receiver design. Quantitative results are presented
