Abstract :
In the advanced intelligent network (AIN), the service switching point (SSP) is regarded as the keystone entity which discriminates the AIN service calls from other ordinary calls, provides a suitable process for them, and connects them to destination parties. We developed an AIN SSP prototype to verify the SSP functions before the complete implementation of a real system. We present the implementation of an AIN SSP prototype for the intelligent network (IN) Capability Set-1 (CS-1) recommended by the International Telecommunication Union-Telecommunication standardization sector (ITU-T), i.e., a prototype configuration and software structure based on the service switching function (SSF)/call control function (CCF) model described in the ITU-T Q.1214 recommendation
