Abstract
In the thirty years since the introduction of pre-engineered cable accessories, advancements in materials science have produced the familiar heat-shrink accessories. Further enhancements in materials science technologies have lead to a design concept, which pushes the state-of-the-art for pre-engineered cable accessories to a new level, where one splice technology (adopting various cable technologies) simplifies the installation procedure. A constant, simple installation procedure, regardless of the cable type, provides an important advantage to the installer. This paper discusses the capability of the design concepts and the long-term lab and field experiences with the basic modules
