Abstract :
A new generalized image enhancement method is presented. In this method, by using a Fourier phase-only synthesis, the traditional Laplacian enhancement is extended to the more flexible one. Here a full-picture enhancement technique and a sub-block enhancement one is utilized. The full-picture enhancement is needed to enhance the total sharpness of the full-picture and the sub-block enhancement is to enhance the partial details. The proposed method is a parametric enhancement and hence it is easy to use. Simulation examples show that the method presented here is very flexible and powerful
