Abstract
This paper presents a new speed control strategy for interior permanent magnet motor at full speed range. The key is to apply the appropriate control strategies according to the operation region of the motor. In constant torque region, the maximum torque per ampere control is employed to acquire high pull torque. On the other hand, the weakening-flux control is applied to keep the output power unchanged when the motor operates in constant power region. Both the simulation and experimental results are given to verify the proposed control strategy.
