Abstract :
The classical IP networks can not meet the requirements of multimedia applications that need certain QoS. When bandwidth resources are limited, an effective admission control boundary bandwidth management strategy is needed to ensure the flows that already exist in the networks holding enough bandwidth. Although admission control schemes based on global knowledge make most optimal decision, they will occupy many sources to keep the information up to date. In this work, we scribe a fuzzy admission control (FAC) scheme based on hierarchical information. Compare to global information, which classical admission control strategy require, hierarchical information reduce the amount of information that nodes need to process evidently. Simulation shows that the excluding probability using FAC is very near the excluding probability of link-based admission control strategy using global information. FAC scheme is more fit for admission control in network nodes without complete information.
