Abstract
This paper describes a technique which can be used for wideband satellite signal power measurements. This method consists in measuring signal´s power within its spectral mask for a certain period of time. A series of measurements has been carried out not only for evaluating the derived results of the proposed method, but also for the computation of building penetration loss for indoor satellite coverage. The results of this measurement campaign showed site and frequency dependence and they were evaluated by comparing results obtained using this method for signals of both vertical and horizontal polarization as well. Penetration loss for satellite signals can be modeled using regression models for both polarizations.
