Abstract :
A multi-modulation RF transmitter IC intended for Impulse-Radio UWB is presented. The modulation rates extend up to 10 Mpulses/s for BFSK, 500 Mchips/s for shaped BPSK bursts and 1 Gchips/s for unshaped BPSK bursts. This PLL-based TX achieves a power consumption of 81 pJ/chip. The generated RF signals have spurious-free power spectral densities (PSD) and comply with U.S. and European regulations.
