Abstract :
Seam-line removal is very important in image mosaicing. Using traditional mosaicing methods to process the three-dimensional (3D) images by cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) usually produces obvious seams because of its high resolution and isotropic features. In this paper, we present a seam line removal method on mosaicing of CBCT images is presented. This method first takes makes a linear mapping to CT values to reduce overall differences of mosaic images, and then extends the feathering algorithm to 3D images. The experimental results indicate that the seams are effectively removed, which greatly improves the visual quality of the 3D image mosaicing.
