Abstract
The performance of ID-array of metallic nanowires for chemical sensing application is studied theoretically and experimentally. The calculations of the interaction of the incident light with the periodic system of nanowires are based on the differential formalism using curvilinear coordinate transformation. The influence of ensemble geometrical characteristic on system sensitivity was predicted. The shift of resonance curve due to change of system environment was observed experimentally.
