Abstract :
Since wind velocity always changes, output power of the wind generator fluctuates all the time. A hybrid generator system combining wind power with other energy source is effective in order to suppress the power fluctuation. Experimental results of the hybrid wind power generator system consisting of two wind turbine generators connected in series and a synchronous generator driven by a prime mover supplied from an energy source when interconnected to the grid are shown based on a wind turbine simulator system. It is shown that output power with high quality was obtained with the hybrid system and that the active and reactive power of the system could be adjusted with field current of the synchronous generator regardless of the fluctuation in wind velocity.
