Abstract :
Today, Cass County Electric Cooperative (CCEC), provides electric service to over 18000 customers with more than 50% of those customers located within two townships in and around the metropolitan areas of Fargo and West Fargo. Due to the rapid growth of these cities and the critical nature of the loads being served within and around these communities, CCEC has implemented a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system to better monitor and control its ever changing distribution system. This paper describes the process CCEC and its power supplier, Minnkota Power Cooperative (MPC), utilized to obtain an integrated solution to substation automation
