Abstract :
Recently, the permanent magnet type linear synchronous motor (PM-LSM) is applied to more and more area. Although the flux density increase with the thickness of a magnet, remanent magnetic flux density has a limit because of characteristic of magnet itself. In order to increase the thrust, a magnetic configuration for double-sided PM-LSM is proposed. This structure can use both magnet torque and reluctance torque.
