A measurement study for transmission energy on mobile device

Energy consumption caused by wireless data transmission takes a significant part of the overall energy consumption of mobile devices, due to the popularity of Internet applications. There are many factors to influence energy consumption such as signal strength, data rate and so on. In this paper we proposed a system to measure the transmission energy consumption in Wi-Fi and 3G. We did some experiments to show the result, and the data in our research is correct to use in future work. As a result, we concluded the relationship between power and some important factors in Wi-Fi and 3G.
