Abstract :
Artificial neural networks (ANN´s) are used to classify simulated images of subterranean geologic features obtained by ground probing radar (GPR). The supervised backpropagation algorithm is used. The aim of classification is for aiding and speeding the process of interpretation and to overcome the lack of experts in the field. Results of this experiment show that this method of classification would be useful in the field.
