Abstract
In this paper, we offer a system for monitoring the temperature of wheat stored in elevators. The temperature at more than 40 control spots is followed. A microprocessor module makes a decision for cooling through active ventilation. The air supercharging fan is turned on at definite criteria. Those criteria are estimated following the humidity and temperature of the surrounding air, the grain moisture and temperature, the air pressure on the fan output. The information about the moisture and temperature is exchanged between intelligent sensors and the microprocessor module by the help of a specialised one-way serial interface. The microprocessor module exchanges information with a PC via RS485.
