Abstract :
Based on the upgrade of IPv6 technology and demonstration project on the China Next Generation Internet (CNGI-CERNET2) infrastructure, this paper designs a deployment plan for the 4over6 transition system deployed in large scale in pure IPv6 backbone and one hundred universities. This technology has taken into consideration the requirements of SPs with slight modification of the Backbone. The technology has high scalability. It is easy to configure the 4over6-supported equipment and cost little to maintain the equipment. And it doesn´t waste the original investment to the network infrastructure. The system supports redundancy backup, which makes it reliable. Besides, it can realize IPv4 connection across IPv6 networks and support classic IPv4 applications like WEB, P2P etc. This deployment plan provides solid support for the transition of backbone.
