Abstract
This paper presents an optimized regulation method on ampere density and coil space factor of switched-reluctance machine (SRM). These two factors are crucial and have significant influence on the performances of SRMs such as the electromagnetic torque output, the efficiency, the power density and the heat effect. But it is always difficult to set these two factors within the suitable range and to output optimal electromagnetic torque. Through selecting the appropriate number of winding turns and the cross area of coil wire, the proposed method can ensure these two factors are both within the reasonable limits meanwhile to guarantee the machine providing optimal electromagnetic torque.
