Abstract :
In this paper, the design method of a novel 12/14 bearingless permanent magnet biased switched reluctance motor (SRM) is investigated. The proposed bearingless SRM has good performances such as self-decoupling and low copper loss. Thus, basic structure and principle are firstly introduced. In order to discuss the structure parameters´ selection, the equivalent magnetic circuits of the permanent magnet bias and the electromagnetic magnetic fields are modeled. In addition, the variation effect of structure parameters on the performance is studied. Finally, a design example is given with proposed design method, and FEM is used to verify the proposed structure´s validity.
