Abstract :
For the first time, self-SPC has been demonstrated for a 100-Gb/s optical packet. Two bits in the packet had automatic output which was parallel by using an all-optical SPC module capable of 18-ch parallel conversion and a control optical pulse created by the single pulse generator. We also demonstrated 1×4 self-routing based on 2-bit label recognition by self-SPC. This experiment was restricted to only 2-bit label recognition, but we believe that, by using an 18-ch receiver array and CMOS address recognition circuits with an address table, the label recognition of more than a quarter of a million addresses on ultrafast burst optical packets could be achieved by a self-SPC system.
