Abstract :
Comparing to original three-phase induction motor, the three-winding series-connected single-phase motor can achieve approximately rated efficiency and higher power factor. This paper presented the simulation and analysis of the operational process of the motor under run-capacitor breakdown, capacitors disconnection and rotor bar breakage faults. Mathematic and numerical simulation models of the motor presented in this paper under fault states were developed based on a prototype machine. The model dedicated to the novel motor was a good tool for simulating the fault state with capacitor breakdown or broken bars and can be used in design to stator and rotor faults.
