Abstract
This study shows that a single second-order nonlinear process can be exploited to achieve phase conjugation. A reflection coefficient of close to 100% is achievable at the mW pump power based on backward difference-frequency generation. Moreover, large gains can be obtained, as the pump power is increased. All these powers are much lower than that for reaching backward optical parametric oscillation.
