Abstract :
This paper is focused on providing a cost-effective solution for multi-band multi-mode wireless systems in which RCO simultaneously satisfy the oscillation conditions of two or more signals, thereby, obviates the need for several signal sources required for each phones, for each of which coverage would have to be checked when trying to communicate. The reported RCO circuit simultaneously generates dual frequency band with the user having an option of choosing a multiple distinct frequency or combination of them that eliminate the need of lossy switches for switching the frequency band, thereby improves the system throughput. The measured phase noise for band#1 (2450-2650 MHz) and band#2 (4850-5250 MHz) are typically better than -108 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset from the carrier, and the topology is amenable for integration in integrated circuit (IC) form.
