Abstract :
The principles and methods for flood routing visual simulation, which are based on the three-dimensional (3D) geographical information system (GIS) and the virtual reality (VR) technology, are presented in this paper. The procedure of constructing the flood routing visualization model is analyzed. Further, a three-dimensional visual simulation system for flood routing based on globe control is developed, which can provide rapid, intuitive image information of decision support for the flood control and disaster mitigation. The system has been successfully applied in relevant departments in real life.
