Abstract :
A novel PID controller based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) has been applied to permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The PSO controller has replaced the conventional PID controller in the speed-regulation loop of vector control. It is intelligent and convenient to find the PID parameter. Experimental results have also demonstrated that PMSM which uses the PSO controller has better robustness and smaller torque ripple than the one uses the conventional PID controller.
