Abstract
In many areas of system design and test, it may be interesting to have automatic tools that are able to extract information from an analysis of global characteristics of the system and identify the cause of an eventual malfunction. This paper presents a tool that performs error signature analyses on non-linearity characteristics of data converters. The techniques employed within the tool provide means of identifying the error sources responsible for a particular non-ideal behaviour of the converter, and can also be used to predict its performance under different sets of errors
