Abstract :
A novel online inertia identification approach is presented in this paper. The proposed approach adopts fixed order recursive empirical frequency-domain optimal parameter estimation to identify online the inertia of PMSM. A simple load torque observer based on the mathematical formula of PMSM is also applied to eliminate the load torque disturbance. The results in simulation and experiment show that, the proposed approach is of excellent robustness and precision compared with the traditional recursive least square algorithm for the inertia identification.
