Abstract
The value of employing magnetic field surveys in order to quantify the extent of potential and on-going monitor distortion problems is discussed. The ease study has illustrated that safe areas for monitor operation can be identified. These surveys should be carried out either prior to computer installation to identify if and where magnetic field “hot spots” are present or, where there is an existing distortion problem, to assist in determining the most cost-effective solution strategy. The benefits of adopting such an approach is illustrated
