Abstract
In this paper a method to reduce the transmission through a slot by creating a soft boundary condition over the slot is discussed. The soft boundary condition is realised by providing the edges of the two plates with corrugations or chokes with a quarter of a wavelength depth. It is also shown that by cascading several corrugations with different depths, the achieved bandwidth can be sufficiently large for being interesting in EMC applications
