  • Abstract
Due to the increasing frequency of digital and/or analog signals the problem of radiation has become of serious concern to manufacturers and designers of electronic products. One of the most important aspects of `electromagnetic compatibility´ (EMC) is the compliance with radiation constraints (CISPR, FCC). Basically all effects related to scatterers must be taken into account in order to predict the radiation of printed circuit boards. The problem is described by means of the `electric field integral equation´ (EFIE) within the frequency domain. An approximate solution of the integral equation is obtained by applying the method of moments (MOM). Using this approach a full wave solution is available but specific numerical problems could occur, which have to be avoided. The authors discuss how the MOM can be used properly when predicting the electromagnetic radiation from PCBs
