Abstract
To calculate and measure the shielding effectiveness of screened rooms (operation centres, containers and cabinets/cubicles, etc.) several different methods are listed in the literature. These are mostly “room centre point method” of Kaden (1959) or based on the “reflection concept” of Schelkunoff (1948) theory, respectively. By comparison of the results of these methods among each other and comparing this with a newly developed calculation procedure by the first author the validity range of both procedures based on the vectorial spherical wave functions is assessed and put into the global perspective of calculating shields
