Abstract
Fast construction of Optical Distribution Network (ODN) and total fulfillment of network device management are crucial to the success of FTTH network. In this study, the conventional labor-intensive FTTH designing practice has been streamlined into a Geographic Information System(GIS) based modularized process to achieve quick construction of fiber plant with capability of fully spatial and inventory managements. An application that includes the development of geographic modules used to construct the FTTH-ODN on a GIS platform and the establishment of tools to create and manage Fiber Riser Diagram has been derived. Also, tool to conduct geographic snapping and attributes linking has been provided. In addition, the system has been developed to fully support the GIS data implementing and querying capability for optical systems.
