Abstract
A new class of time domain second order polynomial Nyquist window functions is proposed and applied to orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems for reducing inter-carrier interference (ICI) at the receiver induced by carrier frequency offset. The average signal to ICI ratio (SIR) over all sub-carriers and bit error ratio (BER) performances of the receiver under slowly fading Rayleigh channels are analyzed in this paper. The performance of other Nyquist windows, including the raised cosine, and the "better than" Nyquist pulse are also considered
