Abstract :
This paper describes the design and implementation of a new cooperative network measurement platform, which can be used for network management tasks such as distributed quality of service (QoS) measurement, cooperative network troubleshooting. The platform is based on a hybrid peer-to-peer (P2P) structure to realize node management and task coordination, in which the P2P communication protocol and message encoding are described, and other issues like incentive and security mechanisms are also discussed. Finally the typical application scenarios of the platform are presented.
