Abstract :
A feasibility analysis for obtaining low-threshold OPO is performed by numerically solving the coupled mode equations that govern three wave mixing. The phase matching technology that yields the lowest threshold for an AlGaAs OPO is quantitatively determined to be form-birefringence phase matching. Two different geometries for an integrated OPO are analyzed, and their comparable efficiencies presented.
