  • Abstract
    The flow field of hydrocyclone was simulated using commercial software FLUENT and Reynolds stress model in the paper. The results show that it correctly predicts the distribution rules of the velocity and the characteristics of Rankine-eddy. The simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental data published before, which proves the validity of mathematical model and computation method. The mathematical model and computing method can provide an effective way for the study of dynamic hydrocyclone such as flow field characteristics, separation mechanism and structural optimization design.
