Abstract :
The design considerations for IIR (infinite impulse response) and FIR (finite impulse response) filters using switched-current technology are presented. By using current rather than voltages to represent signals, IIR and FIR filters have been implemented using basic switched-current building blocks. Current gain errors and harmonic distortion effects are studied. IIR and FIR filters have been implemented using MOSIS 2-μm CMOS technology. Excellent results have been obtained for sampling frequencies exceeding 10 MHz
