Abstract :
A simulator for the modeling of optical coupling in optoelectronic interconnect arrays is presented. Multi-mode and single-mode coupling processes for pairs of optical elements including light sources, fiber waveguides, lenses, and detectors. Simulated results have been correlated with measured data. The accuracy of the modeling has been assessed. Several examples of optical coupling in passively aligned non-ideal interconnect arrays are presented
