Abstract :
Wavelet transform has been widely used in the analysis of power system as an effective method to analyze digital signals. In order to detect the harmonics more accurately, this paper applies the wavelet packet theory in harmonics detection, the method made full use of it´s advantage in deviding the frequency band more meticulous, it can get the harmonics´ waveforms more accurately. In the paper, wavelet transform and wavelet packet transform are used respectively to detect the same steady-state harmonic signal, and we proved that wavelet packet transform is more accurate than wavelet transform by comparing the Matlab simulation results.
