  • Abstract
In this paper, an approach to discover Grid resources and to deploy Grid services based on peer-to-peer technologies is presented. It allows finding nodes in a Grid based on flexible queries, and to add or remove nodes to or from groups. An implementation based on the peer to-peer framework FreePastry and the Grid middleware Globus Toolkit 4 is presented. A graphical user interface to visualize the Grid structure within the peer-to-peer network is provided. Furthermore, the proposed approach allows deploying and undeploying Grid services to/from Grid nodes without influencing other Grid services running on the same Grid node. Experimental results evaluating the performance of our proposal are presented.
