Abstract
The field emission properties of carbon based field emitters have been widely investigated in the past years. High emission currents up to 400mA can be achieved with a hybrid system of SWCNTs and graphene. However, we measure a deviation from Fowler-Nordheim-type field emission which is caused especially by space charge effects in DC mode. A secondary emission process occurs for currents higher than 10mA which causes a fast enhancement of the current.
