Abstract :
In the recent decade, H. R. Walker and others presented a high spectral efficient modulation - VMSK. According to their analyses, VMSK modulation can reach 30 bit/s/Hz and even more simply without loss of SNR. In this paper, the waveform of VMSK is decomposed based on the time domain. The performance of VMSK is analyzed at signal power spectrum point. An example is given to show that the spectral efficiency of VMSK is not high as Walker and others described. Actually, VMSK does not realize the signal transmission with ultra-narrowband
