Abstract :
Active semiconductor microdisk switching devices have been demonstrated for the first time, utilizing gain and electroabsorption trimming of the transmission characteristics. The devices exhibit high-Q operation (Q>5000), high finesse (F∼40) and high power extraction efficiency.
