Abstract :
A novel 5-UPS-PRPU PCMM (parallel coordinate measuring machine) mechanism that can perform three-dimensional translations and two rotations is proposed. In order to enhance the measuring precision of the PCMM, a method for its position and posture errors compensation is then put forward. According to the error model of the PCMM, its position and posture errors compensation model is derived. Then, through the control of the actuating limbs errors of the PCMM, a real-time compensation for its position and posture errors could be realized. The correctness of the errors compensation model is verified by numerical calculation.
