Abstract :
In this paper, a RF transceiver for low complexity impulse-radio-based UWB system is presented. The proposed transceiver is based on noncoherent receiver and OOK modulation. The transmitter consists of a CMOS impulse generator chip of low power consumption, and a planar UWB filter. The module-based receiver is composed of LNAs, an envelope detector, and a comparator. For radiating and receiving UWB signals, a CPW-fed planar UWB antenna is developed. The frequency band of the transceiver is between 3.1 GHz and 4.9 GHz. The output signal of the receiver is a rectangular pulse of 13 ns duration and 3.3 V.
