Abstract :
This article presents two hardware architectural proposals for the Enhanced Karnik-Mendel algorithm. The first proposal takes advantage of sequential online arithmetic, while the latter includes operators based on the CORDIC algorithm. Computing performance is estimated for both proposals over FPGA technology. Results show that the CORDIC based approach could achieve the best indices in both simplicity and speed.
