Abstract :
In ad hoc networks, selecting stable links is important for QoS provisioning. A mobility prediction model based link stability metric algorithm is proposed in this paper, in which the stable neighbor metric and local movement metric are defined. Mobility prediction model is applied to predict stability probabilities between each mobile node (MND) and its neighbors by use of these two metrics for finding the most stable neighbor of each MND and most stable route in a route discovery. Simulation results show that our algorithm outperforms the residual lifetime based algorithm and the lowest ID based algorithm in selecting stable links
