Abstract :
ASGA, the Advanced GaAs Solar Array, is a reusable test facility designed to fly on board Eureca, the European Retrievable Carrier. The aim of the ASGA experiment is to provide valuable information on the performance of gallium arsenide solar arrays and on the effects of the low Earth orbit on their components. One of the most significant features of the ASGA experiment is the possibility of ground evaluation of the hardware after about a one year-stay in space. Eureca, which was launched on July 31st, 1992, will be, in fact, retrieved in June 1993 by STS 57 after a space flight of about 10 months. This paper describes the preliminary evaluation of the ASGA data during the flight mission
