Abstract :
The importance of electromagnetic interference (EMI) by intended high power microwave sources has been increased. Since real victim targets are complex systems, it is very difficult to solve them using a full wave analysis technique. One of the efforts to solving the complex and large problems is Baum-Liu-Tesche (BLT) equation. The equations are used for analysis of electromagnetic coupling and signal propagation in complex electronic systems. There are some efforts that the equations are extension in time domain analysis. In (Baum, 1999), the solving ways are divided into two methods. In early time, it is using the supermatrix inverse, but for late time late time computations, the singularity expansion method (SEM) is used. In (Bagci, 2006), to solve the time domain BLT equations, it is using the circuit solver for boundary conditions at the loads and marching-on in time (MOT)-based scheme. In this paper, we derive the time domain BLT equation using Laguerre polynomials as temporal basis functions. By using Laguerre polynomials, the equations can be solved at one time and not needing other material such as circuit solver. To confirm the proposed algorithm, we have applied to a two wire transmission line model.
