Abstract :
Service registration is an indispensable process of service discovery protocols in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). Due to lack of special analysis for service registration range, which is usually settled as a constant in traditional service discovery protocols, a node can not get any service information from its neighbor nodes when it starts a service request, sequentially it may not adapt to different network conditions. In this paper, we propose a destination-optimization service registration model based on different hop range through the analysis of source-not-assure problem. Moreover, we get the optimal result of the model which leads to the best communication quality. Finally we discuss results in three basic scenes: different possibilities of service request, different dynamic characters of topology and different ranges of network. Based on the analysis, we conclude how to enhance efficiency of service registration and performance of service discovery protocols in MANETs
